Note: All walkers should be equipped with the following items above. Please be aware, that this is a guide to the minimum levels required.
Clothing – You will need a base layer of a thin layer of thermal t-shirt, you will also need two additional thin base layers. For the second base layer you will need a thermal fleece layer, followed by a waterproof and windproof jacket.
Boots – Please ensure that your boots are the correct size and fit comfortably, are designed for long mountain walks and for use on wet rocks. Bad fitting boots are not simply uncomfortable, but can also be very dangerous.
Rucksack – Your Rucksack should be around 30/45 litres and have padded shoulder straps and a waist strap to make it easier and more comfortable to carry. It is good mountaineering practice to carry all spare clothing and equipment in a waterproof liner (bin bag).
